Scaling and monetizing virtual hiring event

ZipIntro is ZipRecruiter's virtual hiring event product that directly connects employers and job seekers through 1:1 video calls. In Q3 2025, we initiated a major redesign to scale the product for enterprise customers—supporting 100× higher hiring volume than existing SMB use cases—while introducing monetization.

I led several design areas on both employer and job seeker sides of the product. As of January 2026, some features are shipped and some are still ongoing, under the collaboration with 1 Senior Product Designer, 1 PM, and 5 engineers.

Overview

Employer: multiple session scheduling

Before the redesign, ZipIntro only supports employer to schedule 1 session for the job position at the time, which does not meet the recruiters' workflow and hiring needs. Now ZipIntro allows employer to schedule and manage multiple sessions without hassle.

Employer: monetization

I also led the 0-1 design for monetization to drive millions in revenue for the business, with a strong focus on transparency and user trust.

Job seeker: RSVP

I redesigned the end-to-end RSVP flow for job seekers, enabling multi-session RSVPs, easier RSVP management, real-time event updates, and better interview preparation.

Job seeker: queue in video call

Impatience, lack of transparency, and underpreparedness are key drivers of job seekers dropping off the queue before talking to a recruiter. I redesigned the queuing experience to keep job seekers informed, prepared, and confidently engaged until recruiter connection.
